Pioneer Electronics Offers Upgrade to VSX-49TX Reveivers. New Upgrade Allows Consumers Firewire Connectivity
Long Beach, CA 9/27/2002
Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today announces that consumers who own a VSX-49TX Pioneer Elite reference audio/video receiver can purchase an upgrade that will modify the receiver to include an I.Link firewire connection. In essence, the upgrade will make the unit virtually equivalent to the newly introduced VSX-49TXi. The availability of the firewire connections allows consumers with a one-wire solution to connect to other audio/video products with similar capabilities, such as the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai.
"This upgrade offer is a testament to Pioneer's commitment to provide products that are 'future-proof' to the greatest extent possible," said Craig McManis, vice president of marketing for the Home Entertainment Division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
The upgrade will be available for $500 through authorized service providers beginning in November 2002. At that time, consumers can get complete details through their Pioneer Elite authorized dealer, authorized service centers, Pioneer customer service, or www.pioneerelectronics.com.
